St. Louis City SC 2 walloped Portland Timbers 2 on Friday night. It was absolute domination with a record-setting 4-goal performance from MyKhi Joyner and a brace from Brendan McSorley. The final score was 6-3 in favor of the Boys From The Lou.

Eduard Löwen started with the second team after a long off-and-on stint with the first team due to personal reasons, likely related to his wife’s cancer diagnosis last year. Similarly, first-team Midfielder Rasmus Alm started Friday’s match on the bench and came on in the 71st minute. Rasmus has been recovering from a lower-body injury all season.
City2 struck first with a 9th-minute Penalty Goal from MyKhi Joyner, his first of many. Portland responded with two of their own.

That score held until halftime. Someone must have given the best locker room speech of all time because in the second half, City2 scored 5 goals, Brendan McSorley scored two, and MyKhi scored 3, bringing his game total to 4, the most in MLS Next Pro history.
After the recent Tornado that killed five and injured many more in St. Louis, City SC announced that all profits from Friday’s City2 Game would go towards Tornado Relief efforts.
There was a dense crowd, and after Joyner’s heroics, they started to chant as if City2 was of utmost importance.
City2's record is six wins, one draw, and four losses. They currently sit atop the Western Conference table, only one point behind Ventura County FC.
