Today’s topic is yet another Goalkeeping statistic; Goals Against per 90, or GA/90 for short.
Per fantasyfutopia.com, “The current standard is to use ‘per 90’ units, which tell us the production of a particular stat over a 90-minute period. This is much easier to read than just looking at stats on a per minute basis. To convert totals to per 90 units, simply divide the total by the minutes played and multiply by 90.”
Minnesota United’s Dayne St. Clair leads Major League Soccer with 0.90 GA/90. Behind St. Clair are two Philly Keepers, Andre Blake and Andrew Rick. Some other names in the top ten include Joe Willis, Brad Stuver, Stefan Frei, Hugo Lloris, Yohei Takaoka, Matt Freese, and Patrick Schulte.
St. Louis City SC’s star Goalkeeper Roman Burki is well behind St. Clair, Blake, and Rick with a Goals Against per 90 of 1.71. Backup GK Ben “Big Ben” Lundt has a better GA/90 of 1.56.
Thank you for reading! The Goalkeeper trend will keep up tomorrow. Stay Tuned.
