What's better than xG and xA? I know! Expected Goals + Assists, or xG+A.

xG+A takes into account the chances of scoring on each shot for xG, or the chances of assisting on a goal for xA. xG+A shows both in one simple statistic that ranges from zero to one per event. Over the 34 games of a Major League Soccer season, players can accumulate numbers well into the double digits.

One incredible season that set the record for this statistic belongs to the 2019 season for Carlos Vela, who amassed an astonishing 40.3 xG+A.

St. Louis City SC players’ xG+A isn't quite at “Carlos Vela Level”, and like the standings also show, they’re below average. Starting with Marcel Hartel, who leads the squad with 9.5 xG+A, then João Klauss with 7.6, and finally Conrad Wallem with 3.6.

As always, I'll mention the lowest xG+A among qualified City players, with the qualification being playing over 1,000 minutes. Unsurprisingly, that player is a defender, so far this season, it is Centerback Timo Baumgartl.
